Announcement
I’m beginning a new step in my artistic path.
From now on, I will also be signing my work as:
Genkoku Mukade 玄刻ムカデ
※ This name feels closer to the spirit of what I do.
※ 玄 carries depth, mystery, and a profound blackness.
※ 刻 means to carve, engrave, and leave a permanent mark.
※ For me, this reflects tattooing more truthfully.
※ Zero One Ink remains the name of my tattoo shop.
※ Genkoku Mukade becomes the artist name I carry in my work and my prints.
※ Same hands. Same commitment. Same Musotoku path.
※ Just a name that speaks more clearly about the work.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
※ Genkoku Mukade (black-carving- mukade) ※

The first time I got in touch with Japanese tattooing was at the early age of ten, during a family bus trip.
I still recall: “It was magical and intriguing to see that Japanese-style dragon tattoo on the arm of the man sitting next to me. Without knowing it at the time, Japanese tattoos had captivated me forever.”
With over 30 years of career experience, my worldwide travels have exposed me to various tattooing styles, enriching my craft and deepening my understanding of this ancient art form.
Currently, I focus exclusively on larger-scale Japanese tattoos, executed using both traditional Tebori hand-poke and tattoo machine techniques.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with others, and I strive to honor the tradition of Japanese tattooing in every piece I create.
